Planned Giving is a wonderful way you can help to provide regular financial support to our two parish churches and our priest. Our parish relies greatly on the generosity of our parishioners and no amount is too little.
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:7
How can I make a Planned Giving contribution?
Automatic Payment
Our parish bank account is BNZ 02-0108-0707673-000 and you can choose to make regular donations to the parish. Once you’re all set up, please email the parish office with your details so that a tax receipt can be sent to you yearly.
Planned Giving Envelopes
Please contact the office if you would like a set of planned giving envelopes that you can drop into the collection basket at Mass. These envelopes are given out just before the start of the financial year (April-March).
Why join our Planned Giving Programme?
While cash collections at Mass are gratefully received by the parish, being part of Planned Giving means that your contributions are recorded and a tax receipt is sent to you at the end of the tax year (31 March). The Catholic Church is a registered charitable organisation and there is no limit on the amount you can claim for a 33% tax credit.
Please remember Ponsonby Herne Bay Parish in your Will
By leaving a bequest to the parish you leave a legacy that will benefit the Church into the future, a gift that will be greatly appreciated. Your bequest is your choice – it may be part of your estate, an item of value, a sum of money – whether large or small it will be put to good use.
Sample wording: “… to the Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland for the benefit of Ponsonby Herne Bay Parish, including all of its successors, I give and bequeath …”
